TO ALL MY THESPIANS...
GHONG XI FAH CHAI...HONG PAO NA LAI?!
Here is your one and only Chinese New Year Break homework/assignment...
Make sure to interview your parents or other people you know who moved here to Thailand and left everything behind so that they can start anew. Use the data and info you can gather to make our story more realistic and have more depth.
On an A4/F12/DS/TNR…draft the Second Act (with at least five scenes!) of our storyline already in script form. I have already told you how to write a script and what to focus on when coming up with a story. Do not write a shallow one…you have to really concentrate and focus on this which is why this is your only task for the break. DO NOT LET ME DOWN!
We already know how our Act One ends. Act Two should begin with Paul now 21 and Tina now 17. Their relationship as siblings is okay, however, there seems to be a friction between the father and the son. Ama is getting sick and the economic status in Thailand is having problems.
Some other things you can push in this act will be emergence of the real father, the death of the ama, Paul discovering who his real father is, the added resentment between son towards his parents, the conflict between mom and pop, the conflict between Tina and Paul, confusion, confusion, confusion within their relationships. The ending will be up to you…try not to talk to each other about your ideas so we can have different points of views on our story line and choose the best and most appropriate one.
That's All Folks! Finish all your homework/assignments immediately so you can enjoy your break more...do not procrastinate and leave it off to the weekend before school starts. Take care and be safe always if ever you are going out of town or out of the country...be ready to Rock-N-Roll as soon as we get back...and of course...enjoy your vacation! Try not to miss me too much! Be good and study well...CIAO!!!

A female/male Taiwanese's entire family, including Grandma or Grandpa (choose one!), decides to migrate to Thailand and sell everything back home. Father takes a chance here by putting up his own business. Here, they experience a different culture which challenges their everyday life and their own relationships. The ending should depend on you...whether it be happy or sad...it's your call...!

TO ALL MY THESPIANS…
GREETINGS!
I have a number of QUARTER BREAK HOMEWORK/ASSIGNMENTS for you to work on given the 9 days you are going to "miss" seeing me and/or “miss” being in my class.
FIRST…you have the entire Quarter Break to continuously read, understand, and finish Chapter 2 of our text, Pantomime and Mime, pages 24-59…in case you have not done so yet. Take notes while you read so that you will not forget and waste your time…!
SECOND…make sure to continuously practice the suggested Exercises on Relaxation, Posture, Walking, Crossing, Turning, and Falling. Do not be lazy in doing it…as soon as we get back from the break, I would have expected you to know them all…I will call on you individually and give you the exercise type and you should be able to execute it properly without asking what it is…!
THIRD…do the following Exercises on Gesture, page 36 and Characterization, page 41. I will be giving you this as a test upon our return…you have nine days to work on the facial expressions and everything else involved in it to be able to execute the situations properly…!
FOURTH…find possible plays from the internet that we can perform in case Animal Farm will not be doable for our major production. Make sure to check whether we will have to pay royalty in using those plays. In case it is free, download and print out the script. Each of you should have at least one play to present to the group when we return…!
LASTLY… on Friday, 24 October 2008, I am going to post a blog for you to respond to. You will have the whole day of Friday and the whole day of Saturday, 25 October 2008, to post your responses. I am going to close that blog on the evening of Saturday between 7:00PM to 11:59PM…!
That’s All Folks! Have a Safe and Wonderful Quarter Break and come back refreshed and ready to Rock-N-Roll for the second part of the semester. Be good and get all your homework/assignments out of the way as soon as possible so that you can enjoy your break to the max…CIAO!!!
