In this October Break, Andy, Pi-Jou and I were doing those props that we would need for our performance. We also watched some Peking opera on the internet in order to learn some techniques of acting the peking opera and we also got some of the music that we need in order to record our so call solo parts. And we have practice our plays for a few times.

On the first Sunday of this break Tum, Irene, and I went to Mr. A's place. We spent the whole afternoon practice for the semester performance, mostly on Opera. Then we met again the following Wednesday. So now, we're done with our Greek Chorus recording, and "Think of Me."
Also, I went to Siam on Thursday. I tried to find costumes for the Opera play, and I didn't find anything. There are costumes for the Peking Opera though, so I might just tell you guys the places where they have the costumes when we get back to school. Our group is getting better and better each time we practice, and we're planning to sing live for the opera!!!

This October Break, Andy, Bettina, and I spent around 4 days working for our drama semester performance. We spent time together making our props for peking opera and Beowulf. I've noticed that responsibility is an important factor for a group to be successful. If one member in a group decides not to come to the practice, then the whole performance will have the lack of unity.

We've tried to rehearse our lines for both Peking Opera and Beowulf. Focus is what our group needs to work on. After I’ve listened to our Beowulf rehearsal (recorded), I found out that our emotions are not strong enough to grab people’s attention. Also, Andy pointed out to us that we were smiling while reading (which we shouldn’t), and I didn’t notice that I was smiling until after he pointed out.

During this short luxurious october break, i got on the internet and ofcourse do some research on one of our homework. I did find a website that could provide some plays including Dramas, Comedy or either a Musical. Still i would say some need to pay for the royalty. And ofcourse by doing mr. a's home works count as relate to our class right? So this is what relate to our class.

In fact i didn't play much during the October break. Bettina, Pi-jou, and I were BUSYING doing the props for the two shows we are preforming on December. It was a hardwork though, all the costumes and the records. First we have to find the songs... which doesn't really linked to the script we wrote. We tried to practice Beowulf, but obviously we lack emotions and focus. We need to focus on that part and try to improve it.

For the first afternoon, which is Friday 17th, 2008, I went to watch a movie called “Max Payne” with Mr. A, Daniel, Robin, James, Tony, and Bell. While I was watching the movie, something came up to my mind about making some corrections towards our semester performance script. Since, I had new ideas that could make our performance better, I told Chain about it, and we made corrections almost the whole break. Moreover, since I had found the costumes for our group already, Chain and I were more worried on the scripts, because we thought that some parts were lame and because there were some parts that aren’t doable, so I changed it and let Chain edit, and sometimes he changed it and I edit it. Eventually, we came up with a whole lot of new ideas and shared it with each other to try to make our performance better.

Pretty much like what Angela said about her break, we met and practiced, prepared the Greek chorus as well as some difficult vocalizations in the Phantom of the Opera. I also learned a lot about the techniques in singing, from Tum, how I should sing and how to distinguish between fake and real voices while singing these challanging songs. Although I'm still reluctant about singing the Phantom live, this is definitely an option for us to choose from.

In this October Break, I have worked on the script of Cyrano De Bergerac and double check the script of Robin Hood. I also watched the movie of Cyrano (1950) to figure out the personality of Cyrano and other characters, and how to act like the character. I've started to memorize the lines of my part. I've went into the websites on the internet to find the musical or interesting plays that we could perform in the end of the year. After I know about the first blog, i reviewed the relaxation, posture, gestures, etc. Lastly, i tried the looking at myself in the mirror and do the facial expression. It was really funny, and i need more practice. I know now that it is really hard to focus, but if you can focus other things would be easier.

Let see, this past October break was really really slow for me, (Maybe because I missed Drama class that much)
What I did for drama in this October break was practice the Semister exam. Irene, Angela and I first practice at Mr.A's house, it
was big but really "messy". We practiced alot of Opera, because it is the one that we are concern about. I have to admit that Irene
is getting alot better with "think of me", I can see that she tried really hard. If you think that we only practice for one day,
you are wrong, we came back to tanacity on Wednesday to record the Greek Drama. I practiced the Gesture of Mime from the book, but I
really had a hard time moving my cheek, maybe because it is too darn big. Oh, lastly I did get a chance to practice the sad and angry
gesture alot when Robin joked that he had cancer, how fun is it to joke that you have to cut your arm off? OMG.... Yep that kind of it, oh oh
I went to Samui and I did get to practice the walking in the sand thing... it is not that different from walking on the normal floor though.
By the way... no gift for anyone, so don't come to me on Monday morning saying "Dude where's my present". Have a nice day!!
